Favorite Movies: "The Big Chill" - greatest soundtrack of all time. Plus the Harry Potter movies and any brat pack classic.
Favorite TV Shows: "The West Wing," the only television show that makes me feel smarter after watching. "Saturday Night Live."
Favorite Books: Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut, American Gods by Neil Gaiman, and of course the Harry Potter series.
Favorite Sports Team: The Seattle Mariners, even if it sets me up for a yearly broken heart. Maybe this year!
“He drew a circle that shut me out-
Heretic , rebel, a thing to flout.
But love and I had the wit to win:
We drew a circle and took him in!”
Favorite College Experience: Celebrating homecoming my senior year at the old Purdue airport. Seniors at Purdue used to decorate their corduroy pants with activities they were involved in, and Mortar Board kept that tradition alive. It was fun to welcome back Boilermakers and celebrate Purdue’s history.
Favorite WA Activity: I love exploring the Cascades and the Olympic Peninsula.
Main Attraction at UW Bothell: I love the wetlands, you can go escape from campus and the urban setting for a bit each day.
Advice for Transfer Students: Plan ahead! Make sure you are meeting with an advisor at your community college and with advisors at the universities you are applying to. When in doubt, ask questions. The more prepared you are the more likely you are to have an easy transition. And once you get to your university, get involved in any way you can.
Fun Fact: I lived in Ireland in high school, studied abroad there in college, and have visited twice since. Éirinn go Brách!
