The Master of Arts in Policy Studies program is a community of people who believe policy can make a difference.

Policy Studies aims to develop the next generation of policy leaders: ethical thinkers and practical doers with the critical understanding and professional skills needed to address contemporary policy challenges. Commitments to equity, diversity, sustainability and the public good, as well as professional rigor, guide the curriculum’s learning goals.

Students graduate into variety of careers across public, private, and non-profit sectors, including  policy analysis, research, management, community development, and public service, administration, and leadership.

Policy Studies recently revised its degree requirements and curriculum. The streamlined program enables students to obtain their master’s degree in just twelve months. Designed for working professionals and those that want to bolster their undergraduate learning before launching their careers, the program features small evening classes and structured opportunities for applied research, community engagement, and professional development.

The Policy Studies faculty are nationally recognized and regionally engaged, with expertise that includes the environment, labor, education, social welfare, human rights, and urban planning. Each student benefits from a dedicated faculty advisor, and an advising network, in pursuing their capstone research.
